Hypocrite Savage Calls US Hypocrites

Robbie Savage is THE most hated player in the Premiership, bar none, no matter who you speak to, and every time he crosses the white lines, or opens his mouth he does nothing but confirm peoples theories.

After Arsenal got a fair old kicking at Ewood park earlier this season, Robin van Persie participated in a frank and honest interview in which he says he doesn’t mind a physical game as long as it’s done in a fair manner. As you would expect, the response from Blackburn was a swift one with both Hughes & Dunn claiming van Persie, and indeed Wenger’s comments were wrong.

In an statement that has more hypocritical points than I’ve ever seen in a couple of sentences, Savage claims Arsenal are hypocrites.

‘Wenger is a great manager and van Persie is a great player but they give as good as they get. Van Persie did a piece in the paper slaughtering us, which is wrong. It’s a man’s game. It’s physical. You’re going to get stuck in and make tackles. And they do that, so it’s very hypocritical of them.’

‘Van Persie’s tackle on Ryan (Nelsen) when we played them was the worst in the entire game. But because they’re a London club, people only want to say nice things about them. And because we’re little old Blackburn, people like to have a go at us, which isn’t fair. People like Arsene Wenger should concentrate on his own team, instead of going on about us all the time.’

First of all he berates RvP for doing an interview in a paper slating the opposition for being overly physical and then in the next instances he’s having a whinge, outrageously claiming van Persie challenge on Nelson was the worst in the game despite the fact that Cesc Fabregas had his head stood on.

Second of all he says that Wenger should concentrate on Arsenal rather than ‘going on about’ them all the time. As far as I remember Wenger had his say after the game and that was that. The noises coming out of the Blackburn camp after that were far more numerous than our own.

And finally, and most humorously to me, Savage says ‘It’s a mans game, it’s physical’. After trying to portray himself as the big hard man I’d like to remind the long haired lunatic of one incident in the match in question. As Savage and Flamini challenged each other for a header, The Flamsters knee grazed, and I mean grazed, the Welshman’s side, subsequently the nerve endings in Robbie’s waist must be connected directly to his face because as soon as the minimal contact was made he rolled around on the floor for 5 minute clutching his wizened vizog.

The Premiership will struggle to prosper and promote itself as the Premier League of the world when people like Savage continue to get match time and are actually allowed to speak in public.
