It was being reported yesterday that Hull City were in for a loan move for Arsenal’s Jon Toral.

ESPN were one of a number to report that sources they had close to the Championship side had informed them that head coach Leonid Slutsky was keen on the player, and that discussions were at an advanced stage meaning the loan is likely to be confirmed in the next day or so.

Toral joined Arsenal from Barcelona back in 2011 as part of a double deal involving Hector Bellerin, but he hasn’t broken through at the Emirates as he’d have hoped, and the 22 year old is yet to debut – but he has spent the last three years out on loan with four different clubs for experience.

In 2014/15 he was with Brentford, scoring six times in 37 games before moving onto Birmingham City in 2015/16 where he left as the Supporters’ and Players’ Player of the season.

The first half of 2016/17 saw him with Granada for half a season where he was recalled, and upon his return he headed out to Rangers.
