How Wenger Is Devolping Walcott

I’ve been giving some thought to how Wenger is devolping young starlet, Theo Walcott.

I would like to start by mentioning all the comparisons made between Walcott and the all time record goal scorer- Thierry Henry.

Everyone from Harry Redknapp to Wenger and even Walcott himself have said that their are huge similarities in their game, namely the incredible pace that they share. There are plenty of other comparisons to be made between them.

Both started out a wingers (albeit on opposite flanks), both are lethal infront of goal and both will be Arsenal legends for years to come.

Young Henry started life as a left winger, when he moved to Arsenal Wenger turned him into a striker, a lethal one at that! He has gone on to be the best striker and arguabley the best player in the world.

Wenger has said on several occasions that he is going to use Walcott in a ‘centeral role.’ This hasnt yet happened. Each time Walcott has come on/played he has been on the left. I dont think this is a conicidence. I think that Wenger is hoping that by playing Walcott down the left for this season then switching him to a striker he will devolp in a similar way to Henry.

I know that Wenger is using Walcott sparingly at the moment and that its frustrating but bear with it, Wenger is the best man to make Theo realise his potential and make him into a legend at Arsenal.
