It was reported over the weekend that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is ready to sanction a January loan move for centre half Rob Holding to get him far more regular game action.

Having come in from Bolton Wanderers for a reported £2.5million last summer, the 21 year old has been impressive in his seven appearances for Arsenal so far this year and The Mirror have reported that with plenty of interest from Championship sides in the player, Wenger is now ready to let him go to really build his experience in a solid run of games in the second half of this season.

They also imply that there is some interest in the player from teams lower down the Premier League table as well and if true we can at least cherry pick a more suitable club in terms of playing style to maximise his spell away from us and with defensive issues beginning to clear up from his early season ‘throw in’ to the side with injuries hitting, it certainly makes far more sense to get him out for games rather than just training and sitting on the bench.

Of course The Mirror don’t have a single quote here but it’s not that much of a leap given how Wenger does loan out the next generation.
