Arsenal skipper Thierry Henry says that we will know in January if Arsenal are going to be title contenders or if we are going to battle it out for second or third place.

In an extensive interview with French paper L’Equipe, in which the star stated that he was going to see out his career with Arsenal (see Vital Arsenal story Thierry Henry – Gooner for life) the superstar also said that Arsenal fans will know in two months time if we can indeed compete for Premiership crown.

Henry: ‘About The Premiership, we could see clearer in January, a period when there are a lot of matches.

‘We should know if we are still able to be champions or not.

Thierry also recognizes that Chelsea have what it takes to continue their dominance in domestic football: ‘I can see Chelsea is still strong and wins. They have created a spirit and a soul and we can only respect that.”

Even though Manchester United are flying at the moment having beaten Liverpool at home as well as Blackburn and Bolton away, Henry says there are far bigger tests to come for the northerners this season: ‘About Manchester United, they played the best teams at home, we have to wait for the return encounters.’

Henry also took the time to talk about the Champions league. He says that Lyon will be there or there about come May: ‘Considering the last two campaigns, Lyon have shown they are a good European side,’ Henry added.

‘Last season they just missed a little luck at Milan, they should have got through.

‘This season if Arsenal don’t win the Champions league I believe that team can win it.

‘They are strong, the only thing they miss is to have trust in themselves.

‘The difficulty in the Champions League is that even when you are the best team in the world, you have to be present on D-Day.’
