Thierry Henry has issued a statement to Sky Sports News after deciding the phrase ‘Who do I owe, and for what?’ was not the best to use.

Earlier Thierry Henry was angered after his commitment was called into question by journolists, he fumed ‘Who do I owe, and for what?’, but has since decided that it did not sound as it was intended.

When he heard of the negative headlines planned for tomorrow’s papers, Henry moved to let his fans know just how much they mean to him.

‘What I heard might be used, you know that I don’t owe my fans anything, I think above all what I came out to talk about was the semi-final of the Champions League and some people try to stitch me up to my fans,’ Henry told Sky Sports News.

‘I have a great relationship with my fans, I love them, I hope they do love me. I just think, its difficult to explain, I think it was inappropriate.’

I hope Arsenal fans are switched on enough to know a lame hack headline when they see one, and realise Thierry Henry is, and always will be an Arsenal legend.

  • Great Henry, we all love that player, true statement, shame about the reporters but we should just concentrate on tommorows game now as he said.

  • Releasing a statement to cover up for a mistake? Has Thierry joined the Labour Party or something!

  • Henry said something in the heat of the moment and realises what our nations so called press could do with that statement. We at Arsenal love Henry and he loves us in return, why wouldn’t he want to make sure our relationship remains a good one!

  • Well thats probably the smartest, well thought out, witty, original comment I’ve ever read on here. Keep up the good work.

  • With a deep sad heart I think that this will be the last year ‘The Great Henry’ will be playing for Arsenal;(I hope I’m wrong). The signs are on the wall for all to see and with the greatest respect surely he would have made his mind up by now. If he leaves it will not scar his geat contribution this fantastic footballer has given the team. I hope everyone will wish him well, I for one will follow his journey wherever he goes. He is the greatest footballer I have ever seen. Go the Gunners

  • bye bye henry lets see how u do next year with out your one man show……all these horseshi.t statement, but what really matters is, he will never dare lie to u and say im staying.
