Thierry Henry has broken another record today by being named the player of the year by the ‘Football Writers Association.

This is the third time Henry has recieved this award, winning it previously in 2003 and 2004.

Henry’s goal scoring record this year has been as amazing as ever scoring on 29 occassions so far this season with 3 Premiership game and the Champions League final still to play.

With his strike rate Henry is probably the most consistent striker in Europe and there is no suprise a whole host of teams are after him, lets just hope he see’s sense and sign a new contract.

The Arsenal captain will receive his latest award at the FWA dinner at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, in London, on Thursday May 11th.

In the last 5 years only one of these awards has gone to a Player outside of Arsenal football club.
