The win in Prague last night saw Thierry Henry break Ian Wright’s long standing goalscoring record for the club.

Henry has notched up 186 goals in 303 games since signing from Juventus back in 1999.

?The boss knew me as a centre forward [at Monaco], but I went on to play on the wing and obviously I was not scoring as much there. It’s funny, when I arrived here and for two, three or four years, people were saying that I wasn’t a natural-born killer. I’m still not but I think I can score goals.’

?When I was on the bench I saw that they were playing really high, I said to myself if I come on then I will try to make runs behind their defence. When I came on that is what I tried to do from the start to put pressure on their defence. I tried it once, twice, three times then I said to Kolo play me behind their defence. That is what he did. The ball was a bit short so I had to control it and turn. I wanted to play in Robin but they followed him so I decided to have a go.?

Speaking on the record Ian Wright commented:

“He deserves it, he is a fantastic player. He has won everything, apart from the Champions League, which I am praying he can do”.
