Arsenal captain, Thierry Henry, says it would be disasterous for Arsenal not to have Champion’s League football going into our new home next season.

Arsenal take on Real Madrid in the second leg of the first knock out phase of the Champions League on Wednesday evening leading 1-0 with the hope of progressing to the quarters.

Henry however thinks it’s more important to make sure we are there next season rather than go for the big one straight away. Message – We must concentrate.

Henry said, ‘It would be amazing if we won the Champions League and we are all looking forward to the Real Madrid game, but equally, it would be an absolute disaster if we did not qualify for Europe.’

‘Monaco two years ago, reached the CL final and made a mistake’

‘The were one point behin Lyon in the French league with two games in hand, all they thought about was the final. They fielded a B-team in both matches, lost both and ended up failing to win the league.’

“They also lost the Champions League. They ended up with nothing, we must not make the same mistake.”
