The result from the weekend was everything Tottenham wanted, and how they let us know. But now, Arsenal progress to the Champions League Final, they have the cheek to question the pedigree of the Arsenal fans.

They resort to petty territorial squabbles, claiming anyone from outside the North London area couldn’t possibly be a true Arsenal fan, GunnerBlood argues otherwise.

GunnerBlood:-

I am from Dublin and I started supporting Arsenal when they had three great Irish players (you may differ on their greatness) – Brady, Stapleton and O’Leary – I was the only gooner at my school, back then most kids were liverpool or man u, with the occasional Leeds fan thrown into the mix. My father wasn’t a big football fan, nor indeed do I have any particular connection with north London. But let me be very clear, I don’t need pedigree or even geography to tell me that whenever my team play my heart is pounding in my chest so hard I think it will explode. I live every second with my team, the glorious triumphs, the gut wrenching defeats and yes the dull dishwater draws. I watched them lose the cup final in 1980 and from then I had to wait 7 years until the won the ‘Littlewoods Cup’ (as it was) and I thought it couldn’t get any better. I am no summer soldier, who marches only when the sun shines. Arsenal is my home, my family, if you cut me I would bleed Arsenal. So don’t tell me it’s about heritage or ancestry, I am an individual and I don’t need some old git in a rocking chair muttering about Danny Blanchflower to tell me where my heart lies. I know that what will follow will be sniping remarks, childish humour, mock piety etc., but to be honest I don’t give a damn. My team is Arsenal, I am a gooner and right proud.
