Arsenal (fairly) new boy, Olivier Giroud is feeling the love from the Arsenal fans, and it`s making him want to die ?. Kind of.

The French striker is one of the fortunate Arsenal players whose name convinently fits into a popular tune that converts nicely into a football chant, because believe me, it doesn`t matter how good you are, if your name doesn`t fit into an easy to chant song, then your name will not be sung.

But “Gi-roud” into “Hey Jude” fits like a glove thus meaning Olivier`s name will be sung with gusto every time he does something positive. And it`s having a positive effect on the player too. Giroud claiming when he first heard his song it made him want to die on the pitch for the fans. Figuratively of course.

“I`m a striker and a striker needs to have a good atmosphere,” Giroud told Arsenal Player.

“You have to keep confident. The atmosphere around you and the support of fans, it makes me feel better and better. I feel very emotive and proud to play for Arsenal.

“When I heard the fans` song … when I came here for the first time, I heard this song and it made me want to die on the pitch for the fans.”
