Olivier Giroud has said he’s a ‘loyal warrior’ to Arsenal – as such he’s not planning to leave.

Having started only 11 Premier League games last season, Giroud openly admitted he wouldn’t be content with another campaign of limited football at Arsenal, which has led to speculation linking him with Lyon – who admitted an interest – along with West Ham and Everton.

Giroud, 30, though insists he doesn’t want to leave the Emirates Stadium as the Frenchman is still looking to continue his ‘good journey’ at the club.

He told the Official Website: ‘I won a few titles in my career, that is an important thing, but there is another thing which is important for me. And that’s the people remember you as a loyal warrior on the pitch – that you always give your best for the team. And that’s why I want to carry on my good journey at Arsenal and I always want to give my best.’

Of course, a new two and a half year contract was signed by Giroud in January that secured his Gunners future until 2019.

The suggestion is Giroud will see out that contract and the Frenchman would ‘love’ to win the title at Arsenal in the meantime.

‘I would love to win another title, or maybe more until the end of my contract. The motivation is here, always doing your best to make your family proud.’

The impending arrival of Alexandre Lacazette would add further competition for his first team place but with 98 goals in 226 appearances under his belt since Giroud’s 2012 arrival from Montpellier the forward has proven himself a key member of Arsene Wenger’s squad.
