With news that Watford had pulled out of a deal for Arsenal left back Kieran Gibbs, West Bromwich Albion were again linked with the player yesterday evening.

Sky Sports were in fact reporting that a knock down fee of £7million had been agreed for his services, and playing the long game here could’ve saved West Brom around £3million with earlier fees indicating talks were held between both clubs in the region of £10million.

Sky say that West Brom moved quickly when personal terms couldn’t be agreed with Watford, and he’s now set for a medical at The Hawthorns later today.

Gibbs is out of contract at the end of this season and a move has long been on the cards this summer.

We’ll have to see what the rest of the day brings.
