After scoring an injury time equaliser against Man Utd at the Grove earlier this season, C’pn Billy Gallas went one better today and scored the only goal of the game to secure a vital victory over his old club.

William Gallas headed the winner in first half stoppage time as Chelsea ‘crumbled’ to only their second defeat under Avram Grant (coincidentally the other game they lost was also to title rivals). However the Arsenal captain felt there was a tinge of luck in his goal.

Gallas told Sky Sports 1: ‘I was really surprised to see the ball come onto my head but sometimes you have to be lucky.

‘Today I was a little bit lucky as Petr is usually a good, good goalkeeper.

”But it is more important to win and I feel the boys did need to win today against a good team. Everybody knows Chelsea are very strong.

‘We know we now have six points (advantage over Chelsea) and that is very important.’

But lets face it, who cares if a fifty stone badger ran on the pitch and nodded in the winner? Three points is three points.
