Danny Welbeck, no stranger to Galatasaray as he scored a 2014 hat trick against them in the Champions League, is attracting the interest of the Super Lig side, currently fourth in Turkey but well off the pace of leaders Besiktas. Sounds familiar doesn’t it…

The Daily Mail has said Galatasaray would be willing to pay Arsenal £16m for the England forward, the amount Arsenal paid Manchester United in 2014, but Welbeck, regardless of a potentially lucrative contract offer, isn’t keen on the idea of Turkish football.

Welbeck, limited 18 appearances this season due to a knee injury, scoring five goals, would be concerned about the ‘political environment remaining volatile’ according to the Mail, which makes sense in fairness.

The immediate focus of Welbeck, 26, is to finish the season strongly but his future isn’t necessarily committed to Arsenal? Also reported, should that be claimed, were the thoughts he would ‘weigh up his options’ in the summer, Arsene Wenger’s future decision having a part to play.
