Having been linked with practically every striker on the planet this January window, Chelsea have now signed Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud.

With Giroud’s future long speculated about owing to his lack of game time, he was on the verge of completing a move to Everton last August but with that deal not coming off he now heads to Stamford Bridge as he continues in time in the UK.

He leaves having made 253 appearances for the club, returning 105 goals and he has some very memorable moments in the shirt, including a particular scorpion kick back on New Year’s Day 2017 against Crystal Palace – picking up the Fifa Puskas Goal of the Year in the process.

He also departs having played his part in three FA Cup wins and having scored against Chelsea in last year’s Community Shield victory.

Speaking to the Official Site Arsene Wenger said of his departure.

‘Oli is a guy who gave great service to the club, he never let us down on the commitment front and he saved us many times. We signed him from Montpellier and he became a strong, regular international player for France, and we have gone together through good and bad. But always I believe that his behaviour has been top, top class. He always had his heart 100 per cent in the team and he was committed.’
