Freddie Is A Winner

‘Freddie is a winner’ claims Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger. Speaking after yesterday’s victory over Fulham, Wenger says Ljungberg is coming back to his best.

Over the last few years, Freddie has been a prolific goal scorer from midfield, but has failed to find the net so far in the league this season.

In the seasons when we have gone on to be crowned Champions or FA Cup Winners, the Swedish winger has always had periods when he has looked unstopable, unfortunately this season has been a different story.

However, as he was in the massive win over Real Madrid, Ljungberg was instrumental in the Premiership win over Fulham yesterday, and was not only unlucky not to get on the score sheet, but could have had a hat-rick.

Wenger has recognised the effort Fred has put in recently, and, rightly so, hailed his performances.

Wenger said: ‘He’s a winner and can suddenly get a second gear. He’s done that many years from March onwards, he’s always been very strong.

‘You cannot really say he’s only a midfielder. He’s a striker and a midfielder and he can go about everywhere. He’s one of the most experienced players in the team as well.’

Arsene also reckons Ljungberg has not been scoring of late due to poor team performances, and not just down to his own game.

‘I cannot imagine that Freddie in five or six months lost his ability to score goals. It was just that as a team we were not as dangerous.

‘Was it down to individual performances or was it down to a less good team performance?’

Lets hope he can keep it up for the rest of the season.
