The 55 man strong FIFA FIFPro Team of the Year shortlist has now been released and there are some very familiar names in contention.

The English Premier League has 13 players on the list, with stars from the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal, and Chelsea being nominated, but Real Madrid contribute 13 players of their own – which puts a bit of perspective on it.

The full World XI, based on votes from professional players from 75 countries, will be announced at The Best FIFA Football Awards ceremony at the London Palladium on October 23, 2017 – along with FIFA’s other awards categories for the last campaign.

Each player contributes one goalkeeper, four defenders, three midfielders and three forwards and this year they will be picking from.
