With speculation linking Arsenal’s Theo Walcott to Southampton and then Everton, it appears Sam Allardyce has won the battle to sign the former England man this January.

Talks between Arsenal and Everton are at an advanced stage on a reported £20million deal and the BBC have said that Walcott is now on Merseyside to undergo a medical and agree personal terms.

The 28 year old has fallen out of favour under Arsene Wenger, but he does have 16 appearances to his name this season with a return of four goals.

If he does leave the Emirates Stadium, having joined the club from Southampton 12 years ago, he would depart having made 297 appearances with a return of 108 goals.

It’s believed Arsenal have also offered Jack Wilshere a new incentivised based contract with him being a free agent at the end of the season.
