  • This might sound like a daft comment, but I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of wood that has been employed in the building of the stadium. Places that I’ve been to, such as the Riverside and the Britannia, are just glass and metal mainly, and look out of place. The wood gives a good feeling of continuity and tradition. I look forward to getting along, at some point…

  • Agreed NB – Many of the stadiums I visited last year were very industrial, the board have taken into account our history and tried to incorperate as much of it into the new stadium as possible. All the great players, teams, managers, matches & seasons have all been remembered in one way or another around the place. It’s nice to see.

  • Cant wait I just got my tickets for the Bergkamp testimonial on 22nd July 06 the new Ashburton era begins

  • Can sum1 pleade tell me y it says england on the seats and not Arsenal or gunners????????????????????????????????????????

  • Adilson. The seats at Ashburton will be red, they look white because they have a plastic protective cover on. The builders have just being having a bit of world cup fun.

  • Ver’ impressive, good to see a new stadium that isn’t simply a build-by-numbers affair. Just look at the two down the road from St. James’ Park. Which are in turn identical to Southampton’s ground, which is the same as Derby’s. With this increased capacity, your lot should push on and kick Chelski from their pedestal.
