After the events of this afternoon I am destined to spend the rest of my life in Asda on a Saturday.

With no means to watch the game, I sat with my son on my knee and watched Gilette Soccer Saturday.

By halftime we were 2-0 down and down to ten men, I was through listening to Matt Le Tissier’s screams in the background hoping that we’d pulled a goal back.

So after a brief chat with my wife (brief? yeah right) I set off to Asda for supplies for the Sunday roast, and a couple of bottle of Shandy for Saturday night in front of the box.

After the obligatory text message from the Mrs with an additional 8 hundred items to pick up, I found my self reaching for some milk when I heard an Asda employee talking to his colleague.

‘Yeah I can’t believe it’ He proclaimed ‘2-0 at halftime and Diaby has been sent off, and we’ve come back to draw 2-2’

The milk I was grasping in my mitt landed on the floor sending the white stuff cascading everywhere.

The mobile came immediately out of my pocket and hopped on the blower to the ball and chain.

‘Is it really 2-2?’

‘**Sigh** Just let me check……… yeah it’s 2-2!!’

‘Awesome’

‘Wait …… wait ……. 3-2!!!’

‘To us?’

‘Yeah!!!’

Cue the dancing and strange looks from fellow shoppers.

So being the superstitious soul that I am, I may now have to spend every matchday from now until the end of the season in the chilled section of my local supermarket.
