It’s being reported this evening that Arsenal have agreed a £12million fee with Valencia for Francis Coquelin.

Sky Sports have broken the news and lean on sources who have informed them that agreement for the 26 year old in now in place.

He apparently chose his Spanish destination after rejecting interest from West Ham United and Crystal Palace.

The French midfielder has been with Arsenal for almost ten years and he does have well over 100 appearances to his name, but in 2017/18 has found his chances severely limited to only seven starts across all competitions.

Wenger had been quoted on Tuesday as saying that a departure for him was ‘a possibility’ but nothing at the time had been ‘decided’.

There’s no confirmation other than Sky that I can see at the moment, but the report does say we will open contract negotiations with Jack Wilshere in the next week as well as obviously there has been speculation about his own future.
