New Arsenal contracts for Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil are something we await news on but it’s been confirmed today that Olivier Giroud, Laurent Koscielny and Francis Coquelin have all penned new deals.

Long-term deals were announced but the club didn’t reveal the actual length of these contracts.

Commenting on this news Arsene Wenger told

‘We are very pleased that three important members of our team have committed to us for the long term.’

Coquelin is currently sidelined by injury but the 25 year old has become a key figure for Wenger in midfielder during the past 18 months or so.

‘Francis has made tremendous technical strides over the past few years because he`s so focused every day.’

On the in-form 30 year old Giroud – who has scored four goals in as many games including that ‘scorpion goal’ against Crystal Palace – Wenger added.

‘Olivier has big experience in the game now and has become a more and more complete player since joining us.’

Concluding 31 year old Koscielny – who has taken to Twitter to say his deal takes him through until 2020 – is one of the best defenders in the world.

‘Laurent is of course a key part of our squad and I believe one of the best defenders in the world today. So overall, this is great news for us.’

Getting the futures of the French trio sorted in great news for Arsenal. Now for the Gunners to do the same with the likes of Alexis, Ozil and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain!
