Often in football, we are presented with a situation that offers us a stark reminder that there are certain things in this world that are more important than football.

As Glen Roeder offered his opinions on Newcastle’s home victory over Liverpool, the Magpies gaffer revealed that defender, Celestine Babayaro had played the game whilst suffering the most horrendous pain.

The night before the game Celestine telephoned his boss with the news that his younger brother had lost his life to tuberculosis.

After consulting with his older brothers, Babayaro made the tremendously brave decision to play the game in memory of his brother only 15 hours after his death.

We here at Vital Arsenal would like to offer Babayaro our deepest sympathies and the strength and courage to battle on in face of tremendous grief.
