Silly season doesn’t really seem to have gone away for Arsenal, Hector Bellerin is now being linked with interest from Manchester City and Barcelona.

Now admittedly the original source for this appears to be the Daily Mail from what I can tell, but in any event they aren’t the only ones covering it.

Apparently the 21 year old Spanish international full back is a ‘top priority’ for both Pep Guardiola and Luis Enrique and they claim that they ‘will not take no’ as an answer in January when the window reopens.

This follows on from reported bids in the summer window that were rejected by Arsenal, but the Mail says ‘bid’ at one point in the article, and then suggests both clubs only ‘asked’ about him later on.

With Bellerin being at the Nou Camp prior to his arrival at Arsenal, they say Enrique believes a return home would be a ‘strong emotional pull’ on the youngster, but apparently Manchester City have a ‘strong appeal’ and have a ‘secret weapon’.

That secret weapon being Mikel Arteta owing to the following interview from back in May.

‘Mikel and his wife adopted me when I arrived. I was a kid and he has been like a father to me. He has been instrumental in my integration into the Arsenal.’

With a four year contract signed in 2015, and contract talks ongoing at the moment, this rumour can be quickly put to bed once that new deal is signed.
