There is no point a club peaking too soon, or too late, for that matter you have to look to balance this out over the course of a season. It’s fair to say, at this point in time we’re certainly ending the season strongly, with Arsene Wenger believing that with us doing this we still have plenty to play for and that means that anything is possible.

Man City will not defend their title, we can safely say that and it quite literally is Chelsea’s to throw away now but Wenger is refusing to rule out a late push to challenge them for the Premier League crown.

He says that it’s ‘interesting’ that we’re ‘in good form’ at this stage of the campaign and that we have ‘a good team dynamic’ with him hopeful of maintaining this through until the season ends then we can see where it gets us but with us up to second he’s also more than aware that ‘teams are chasing us’ and we want to stay ahead of them too.

Having won the last seven-matches if we won our final seven-match too that would see us end with 84-points, as pointed out to Wenger this has only won the title once in the past decade – talk about cutting down the interviewer, his answer to that was a simple one ‘let’s win the next one’ end of….

With Chelsea having to play us, Man United and Liverpool it could make things interesting and if they drop significant points from these games and we can pick up a neigh on a perfect points return then as said, it’s still Chelsea’s to throw away, but you then start to think, as unlikely as it will be, it could still be ours to win….

First and foremost though lets keep second, a win on Saturday at Burnley and we keep second place and close the gap on Chelsea – who will have two games in hand – to four-points before they take on a QPR side battling to stay in the Premier League on Sunday, so that’s not a given is it?

This unlikely challenging of Chelsea for the title wasn’t ruled out but Wenger has been realistic, he knows we can’t influence what others do but can be the masters of our own destiny and all we can do is ‘do our best’ with him looking for a finish as high as we can and, firstly, a positive outcome in the semi final of the FA Cup as we look to defend that trophy. What happens then will take case of itself, if we ‘maintain our quality.’
