A couple of reports are now doing the rounds suggesting that Chelsea will be expected to hand over around £50million if they have designs on Alexis Sanchez this summer.

First to hit the internet was an Evening Standard that continued to talk up strained relations with his colleagues over his emotional responses and of course the fact the 28 year old was dropped to the bench for the Liverpool game.

With contract talks stalled until the end of the season and confirmed by Arsene Wenger, they suggest that with 14 months left on his contract Arsenal will be open to a transfer unless contract talks are sorted out in a sharpish fashion come the end of the campaign.

The Guardian seem to build on that in a later report where they suggest that Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has told his Stamford Bridge hierarchy that Alexis is his main transfer target over the summer and they say that as part of his contract talks with them, Alexis has featured in summer capture plans along with a few others.

They then go onto reference the stalled contracts and other speculation, citing that doubling his £130,000 a week to £250,000 is a non negotiable element of a new deal.

Both reports don’t have a source and they are ‘understands’ pieces but they certainly seem to be gaining traction this afternoon.
