Arsenal stopper, Jens Lehmann claims that Chelsea are an ‘artificial’ club.

Arsenal have had a series of of resounding victories over the past few weeks and are back playing some blinding football.

Chelsea have the ability to throw as much money as possible at any problem that comes their way.

However Lehmann believe’s the current Champions way of doing things works, but isn’t as attractive as our own style of play.

‘Our way of working is clearly more attractive,’ claims Lehmann. ‘Fans struggle to identify with Chelsea. They are a sort of artificial product.

‘Their way of doing things works but they don’t play such attractive football. At Arsenal, in that sense, we are a step ahead of them.’

Cue the Chelsea invasion.

  • I agree with the great Jens, Arsenal know how to play great passing football that surpases any club, if we get far we deserve it. Chelsea forget football is a sport to entertain people, people go to be entertained but Chelsea forget that and just want to win.

  • I have even heard chelsea fans saying that at least there is 1 entertaining team in London. That speaks volumes its self!

  • I think most football fans would agree with Jens on this one. Chelsea fans say ‘oh your just jealous we got lots of money’. trust us we are not! they will have no real respect from any body unlike Arsenal, Liverpool, Man Utd etc.

  • To be fair to Chelsea we as a club and as a fan base are still getting used to being a top team and as I?m not yet used to winning titles I more than happy to be a winner with unattractive football. Just like Arsenal fans were under Graham. Although saying that I would like to see us put on more entertaining fair but am willing to give it another season before it becomes a demand.

  • Chelsea are having trouble hitting the back of the net. The solution: spend a ridiculous amount of money on a striker in the summer. Money may buy you the Premiership, but it won’t buy you the Champions League or Love.

  • Not worried about the love but would say that the CL can be bought, despite the recent luck of ‘Pool/Porto.

  • C’mon, with the playrs and the money Chelsea have there is no excuse for playing dull football. Robben, Cole, Duff, SwP, Crespo, Essien can all be creative players so there is no reason what so ever for boring football IMO

  • I think its unfair to any loyal Cealsea fan that they cant identify with the club, its like saying to you lot your a bunch of forigners and cant Identify with your team either. However every fan will identify and have passion for their club. However their monney has beed a bad thing for the league in general, nothing to do with their fans (their just miss guided like you lot 😉 ). A Yid

  • Simmy, yes we could play better football with our players but the manager plays effective football first (and pretty much only) ergo the lack of some of the quality football which Arsenal have rediscovered in the past moth (I loved RVP’s goal on Sat BTW). As I say a win first, play latter, mentality is fine by me for the time being as I?m still finding wining regularly (the past couple months aside) a novelty which I?m greatly enjoying. Maybe the season after next that will wear off and I?ll want something more, such as more entertaining football.

  • Cheers Rocky. Willing to admit the clubs foibles, so long as not needlessly insulted by others (usually the Spuds supporters!)

  • I know we all get a bit animated at times, but mostly, abit of honesty from fans is always good to see (even from Gooners)
