18 year old youngster Stephy Mavididi has seen his loan spell out with Charlton Athletic cut short after he picked up a hamstring injury.

The player made the move to The Valley at the end of the January transfer window and in his time with them so far he took in three starts with two further showings from the substitutes bench.

In their game last weekend against Bury he picked up an injury though, and following scans and assessments it has now been confirmed that he has torn his hamstring and he will be out for around three months, so effectively his season is over.

He has now returned to Arsenal for recovery and rehabilitation.

Charlton manager Karl Robinson told their Official Site of the injury that obviously it was a blow for the club and the player.

‘He saw a specialist last night and he’s set for an operation at the start of next week, but it will keep him out for between 14-16 weeks. He’s been in tears which is sickening because he’s been tremendous for us and we wish him all the best. He’a been a credit to his family and to Arsenal FC and we’d love to have him back next year.’
