Champion’s League Over Premiership

Arsene Wenger thinks success, this season, in the Champion’s League is more important than anything he could have achieved in the league.

Judging by Arsene Wenger’s team selection over the last three matches, he’s really going for it in his bid to make ‘ol big ears’ the final trophy to make it into Highbury’s trophy room, albeit for a very very short time.

‘I wouldn’t trade our success in the Champions League for the Premiership title,’ said Wenger.

‘I wouldn’t like to change now because I feel the team this year has gone through a growing process and we do not want to start that again.

‘I have always thought that we have come up a fraction short in the Champions League, something has been missing.

‘But maybe now we have that missing thing.

‘I am confident because this team has character.

‘In fact, the character in the dressing room is amazing. I felt we were under massive pressure in the second game against Real because they came here as a highly-motivated team.

‘We went to Juve and we went there under huge pressure because we could only lose it and in the minds of people, we had qualified. Also, the players were unfazed.

‘We have tried for eight years to be where we are now and we want to do well because we know through experience that it is the occasion to do it.’

Victory over Villarreal on Wednesday night, and a clean sheet, would go a considerable way to seeing Arsenal through to the final in Paris.
