Chambers Rewarded For Early Season Form

We all knew that Arsene needed to sign a defender this summer but few would have guessed the boss would shell out £16M on a relatively untested 19 year old.

Indeed a few eyebrows were raised when Calum Chambers arrived in North London, however those same eyebrows were lower not long after the young Englishman`s debut.

Chambers has looked ridiculously assured so far this season (aside from a couple of youthful indiscretions at Goodison) and has even been baptised into the difficulty of being an Arsenal player after being booked for walking on the field of play against Besiktas last night.

Arsenal fans haven`t been the only people keeping a beady eye on Calum, indeed the England manager has taken a shine to him and has called him up for the England squad today.

Chambers might well have a long way to go before establishing himself as a first choice Arsenal defender let alone England starter, however the experience will not hurt him (unless he comes home injured which let`s face it, is more likely than not).

Chambers is joined in the England squad by The Ox and Wilshere (who were also impressive last night).
