Cesc Fabregas has shown his true class in more ways than one this week.

The Spanish midfielder netted a brace in the CL qualifier against Dinamo Zagreb earlier this week in a display that proved he had made the transition from promising youngster to world class player.

Fabregas then issued a statement claiming he had Wenger to thank for his progression and the fact Wenger showed his faith in the player meant he was going to repay his French gaffer.

‘There was speculation about Real Madrid and me in the summer. They are a big club with a big history,’ said Fabregas.

‘But I am an Arsenal player and they are also the club who believed in me since I was 16.

‘I have to thank Arsène Wenger for all he has done for me.’

Fabregas also expressed his desire to have fellow countryman, Jose Antonio Reyes to remain a gooner admitting we need his talents.

‘We need players like José,’ insisted Fabregas. ‘He is a very good guy, very intelligent, scores goals and makes a lot of assists.’
