PFA chief executive Gordon Taylor says that Cesc Fabregas is poised to be nominated for the Player of the year award for many years to come after the young Spaniard was nominated for both player, and young player of the year award.

The FA bigwig could not speak highly enough about Cesc, and even speculated that out of all his young protege’s, Fabregas is the one of whom Wenger should be most proud.

Taylor said: ‘I would think that, of all the young talent Arsene Wenger has helped develop, he would be most pleased with the emergence of Cesc Fabregas.

‘I would expect the young Spaniard to be a contender for our top award for many years to come.’

‘He has been a marvellous player for Arsenal who, when they are in full flow, are wonderful to watch; with Fabregas usually at the heart of every move.’

‘He is the one who makes them tick and, to see him so composed in the midfield action area, you would think that there is a much older head on those young shoulders because he has such remarkable vision and perception of what is going on around him.’

‘Fabregas is going to be a player for all seasons if he keeps going the way he is.’
