Goalkeeper Petr Cech has said that Arsenal have to strive to be more consistent in the season of 2017/18 after a disappointing campaign last year.

Knowing that our biggest failing last season was being consistent on a regular basis, Cech told the Official Site that having ended the campaign on a high by bringing the FA Cup back to the club for a record time, we have to take that momentum into week one and then make sure we turn in week in and week out as that was what we lacked.

‘The one thing that is clear in the Premier League is that, if you don`t play at your best every game, then you will obviously have difficulties winning every game. You need to make sure that you are prepared and ready for every game to make the most of it. Every goal and every point is very important.’

With the existing group added to already with the signings of Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac, Cech believed the newbies would certainly help when they settled and found their feet, but again he knew we had the quality in the squad it was just about that word consistency.

‘We believe in our ability and we believe in our squad. I think that we showed last season, especially at the end of the season, that we can compete with anybody. We just need to make sure that the period we had in February and March, which cost us the better league position, doesn`t happen again. We have a well-balanced squad with a lot of quality.’
