Goalkeeper Peter Cech has been giving his own thoughts following the draw at Old Trafford against Manchester United at the weekend, and he’s also spoken about Hector Bellerin.

Beginning with the one all draw against Jose Mourinho’s new squad, Cech told the Official Site that clearly Arsenal weren’t at their best in the game, but fighting back to take a point shows the spirit in the group and bodes well for the remainder of the season in terms of taking something from the game when we’re not at our best.

‘Obviously we are not pleased with the performance but we have to take the point because we were losing and we equalised with three minutes to go. It was a great action and I thought maybe we deserved a little bit of credit for scoring the goal because as I said it was not our best performance and anyway we managed to get a result in a big game. We keep our unbeaten run going and that`s positive, but obviously we would`ve liked to win.’

Cech went on to admit that although we still had good possession on the day, it was one of those games for us where we just didn’t do enough with the ball when it came to creating chances and putting them under real pressure.

‘We had passages of the game where we had good possession but we were not dangerous so I think this is what we lacked today. We didn`t create enough to score a goal, we basically created one chance and it went in so credit to Olivier that he came on and made a difference.’

Adding.

‘We`ll take the point, because it was not our best performance and we are a little bit disappointed with our performance because I think we can do better. But in the end, even in a day where we were not at our best we managed to get the result and in the end, you know, when you`re losing with a few minutes to go and you equalise, you obviously have to be happy with the point.’

With Hector Bellerin signing his new deal at the club at the beginning of the week, Cech went on to say that he believed the Spanish right back is more than capable of becoming one of the ‘world’s best’ as he continues his development at the club.

‘He`s an outstanding player and he`s been having a fantastic season so far. He`s not only about speed, it`s obviously about the understanding he has with other people in the team. You can use him as well as a fake winger, because with his speed and ability to go forward at the right time, it`s a big asset in our game. When you have a right-back who can attack and still has the legs to come back, then you can use him with a lot of freedom. You want people to do their jobs properly and he defends well and is a big threat going forward.’

Cech went on to say.

‘Obviously we are pleased that he has signed the new contract because you want to keep your outstanding players. He can compete to be one of the best right backs in the world, because he has all these abilities. If he keeps working in the same way he`s been working, there is still room for improvement in his game with a bit more experience and more games under his belt. He can go really far.’
