Goalkeeper Petr Cech has been ruled out for up to four weeks with a calf injury today and we also have updates on Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.

Beginning with Petr Cech who picked up the Czech Player of the Year award the other day for a record ninth time, it’s being reported today – Click Here – that he is likely to be sidelined for up to a month with the calf injury that forced his substitution in the three one defeat to West Bromwich Albion last weekend.

A scan on his calf since then has revealed issues that could take the next four weeks to recover from and the 34 year old stopper is likely now to miss the Manchester City, West Ham, Crystal Palace and Middlesbrough clashes when we go into April.

He might be back for the FA Cup semi final against Manchester City though.

As of yet there’s no official confirmation from Arsenal directly.

As for Alexis with reports of him turning up for training and clearly not being injured or carrying a knock – well those fantastic reports were rubbished by Alexis himself as he took to Instagram to show a nicely strapped ankle even if he seems to have lost most of his clothing.

Buenos días 💫🇨🇱 Good morning 😉

Whether he plays for Chile or not won’t really answer the question as Wenger plays him through injury even if it’s not the full 90 as we saw recently (West Brom injury first half, not subbed until 78th minute) and the tag posted is apparently (if I’ve got the right Instagram post) ‘The only failure is not to try’.

As for Ozil who was slammed for turning up for Germany’s camp this month despite missing games for us with injury, well again the ever accurate media have bee slightly shown up by Joachim Low.

Germany simply took the option to assess him themselves which every country can and does do.

He wasn’t speaking to the Daily Star they just carry his press conference quotes.

‘Neuer has reported injured, it’s the same with Ozil and Draxler. They have minor hamstring injuries but it is too much of a risk to play them. Gomez has a groin injury.’

So he’s not going to play for them after all.
