Arsenal won a game! Wayhey!

I was beginning to forget what that felt like.

I kid.

Sort of.

In seriousness Arsenal went to Goodison Park looking to avoid the week from hell in which they could have feasibly have crashed out of 3 competitions in 3 games in 7 days. However they Gunners put in our first excellent performance in a long time to secure a 2-0 victory.

Arsenal were very impressive with crisp, smooth passing, fast counter attacks and lots of movement. It was lovely to see. Truth be told the Gunners played fairly well against Barcelona but the quality of the opponents overshadowed that somewhat but Arsenal weren`t put in the shade at all today.

We got an early lead with a wonderful team effort with lots of that fancy passing shenanigans I was talking about earlier. Sanchez fed the dangerous Welbeck who rounded the keeper and slotted home. It was wonderful to watch.

The second was a completely different kind of goal. A hump up field found Alex Iwobi in a foot race with an Everton defender (I forget which), the strong forward got there first and calmly slotted the ball under Joel for his first Arsenal goal.

We never looked in any danger after that. Well not of losing the game at least but we were in danger of losing more players to injury.

David Ospina was clattered as he bravely came out for the ball. It looked grim for him but he stayed on the pitch, though he did need assistance from his defenders to take goal kicks. Mesut Ozil had to be replaced after his ankle was accidently trod on, hopefully he`ll get a week off the friendlies and return refreshed in a couple of weeks.

The boys deserve great credit for the result in what has been a very difficult week as we cling to our faint title hopes. As I type Leicester are currently 1 goal to the good against Palace and if we are to win the league we`re going to need them to falter sooner rather than later.

We shall see.
