One of the stand-out performances of a whole bunch of great performances was that of German teenager, Serge Gnabry.

Gnabry was wise beyond his years in his game, putting on a fantastic attacking display, the highlight of which was a superb assist for Santi Cazorla to smash past the Spurs keeper.

The player himself was delighted just to get the chance to feature in one of the season`s biggest fixtures, let alone receive praise for how he played. However he believes there`s more than room for improvement.

‘I’m just grateful that I’ve heard I put in a good performance,’ said Gnabry speaking with Arsenal.com

‘I think that as well I’ve done, I can always do better.
‘I always want to win against Tottenham. I feel great to have put in a good performance to help the team to win.”

‘Of course you are more motivated [against them] than to play against any other team in the Premier League and to win against Tottenham is a big thing for every Arsenal fan and every Arsenal player.”

‘It feels great as a young player to start in a game against Tottenham in a big derby – it’s a great feeling. I just tried to do my best and help the team to win.’

Meanwhile his team mate, Mikel Arteta has likened him to a boxer for his brave and tenacious style of player.

‘He’s like a little boxer, he’s a little fighter. He’s good. He’s got a lot of character as well, the lad doesn’t get intimidated either because it’s a derby.’

‘His character is great. You see it in training. Technically, he is very good but he’s got something about him as well. He doesn’t mind when he gets kicked, he gets up and goes for the next ball. He’s quite brave.’
