In the summertime when the weather is fine, there are players coming and going all over the country and with the 25-man squad the comings and goings can often times go hand in hand.

So with the arrival of Alexis Sanchez and Mathieu Debuchy that has been much talk of which players might be leaving the club.

Of course we`ve already seen the departure of Bacary Sagna, which prompted the signing of Debuchy in the first place, and a few other fringe players hit the bricks, however many people seem intent on shoving Santi Cazorla out of the door (along with Carl Jenkinson!).

This baffles me on both a sporting and personal level. I will freely admit that I had a bit of a man-crush on Santi Cazorla, he is, as it stands, my favourite Arsenal player. It might be a tad childish to have “favourites” at 36 years of age, and maybe you`re right, but I just love watching this guy play football.

It`s rare you see a player so talented with both feet, amazing vision and balance that can only be bettered by a weeble-wobble. Yes, I love Santi Cazorla.

However even thinking with my level-head I can`t understand why people would want him out of Arsenal. He still has a massive role to play for the Gunners. Look at the FA Cup final for instance. To my mind he was one of the top performers on the day, scored not only a brilliant, but a crucial goal to get us back in the game, he`s a big player (not in the physical sense obviously) and we need his kind if we`re going to challenge for more silverware this season.

So it is to my delight that after weeks of people questioning where Cazorla will “fit in at Arsenal this season” that the little Spaniard announced yesterday that he is still very happy in North London.

‘I feel good, I am staying very happy playing for Arsenal and the team now is more strong with the new players and I hope we win the trophy for the fans,’

Best news I`ve heard in ages.
