Hector Bellerin and Rob Holding have both been giving their thoughts following victory over Stoke City last weekend.

Travelling to the Bet365 Stadium for the tie, Arsenal came out as four one winners with a brace from Olivier Giroud and further goals by Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.

Speaking to the Official Site in his own post game press conference, Bellerin explained that the performance and victory had come out of the ‘heart and character’ of the side as we push for a top four finish this year.

‘We knew that we were playing for our lives really, so any result other than a win wasn`t good for us. We knew that at the start of the game, so we knew we had to win no matter what. I think the team did really well. We had loads of chances, it was important to get them in and I think the team did really well.’

Asked on whether the showing had proven the team believed in gaining a Champions League place again this year, he added.

‘Definitely. That`s something this team has. We have a lot of heart, a lot of character and, even though in some games it may not look like we`ve shown it, the team really wants to be there and we`ve shown that here.’

With a game in hand on Liverpool, he ended by saying.

‘It doesn`t matter, we`ve got to focus on ourselves. We`ve got two games left, with one of those in hand, so we`ve got the best chance of getting there.’

As for Holding, he focused in on Peter Crouch’s goal and he was pleased with our discipline and the way we saw that patch through.

‘He got that goal and their fans got a bit louder, so we showed a bit of character to stay in the game when they had seven corners in a row. We just had to withstand it and then score more goals on the break to polish it off.’

As for the handball element.

‘I didn`t see it go in, but I saw some of the lads shouting and waving their arms about. It went in but we got the result, so it doesn`t matter.’

He also spoke about the three at the back and he was enjoying it.

‘I enjoy it, getting on the ball a bit more and you have a bit more safety with the other two there. It plays into the way that I play because I like to be on the ball and move it forward. It`s been going well so hopefully it continues.’
