Manchester City wouldn’t be an option for Alexis Sanchez all the while he’s under contract at Arsenal it seems as the Gunners wouldn’t run the risk of selling a key figure to a Premier League rival again, would they?

According to the Daily Mirror, Alexis is worried Man City’s interest in signing him this summer will fail as Arsenal wouldn’t be prepared to sell the Chilean to City, leaving his ‘only escape route’ as Bayern Munich.

Man City will offer a fee above the £40m Bayern would for Alexis, City are prepared to hand him £280,000 a week too, slightly above the rumoured £275,000 a week deal Arsenal have proposed, already massive improvement on his current £130,000 a week.

Look up stubborn in the dictionary and you’ll see a picture of Arsene Wenger. If the clubs hierarchy are as adamant on not dealing with Man City as the Frenchman then a £50m offer is doomed to fail. Alexis wanting this move, which City apparently think he does as far as these reports are concerned, wouldn’t make a difference.

The Mirror concluded, Bayern had ‘already sounded out Sanchez’s representatives but the German giants fear that he would prefer to stay in the Premier League and are losing hope.’

Alexis does seem as if he’s happy with remain in England, if this is to be the case a switch to another Premier League club will most likely take place next summer? Well, unless Arsenal decided it would indeed best to take the money, instead of nothing in 2018, as Alexis, 28, clearly isn’t signing a new deal with the Gunners is he? If he was wouldn’t he have done so already?
