Barcelona’s interest in Hector Bellerin isn’t going away as Arsenal look to keep hold of the Spanish right back, who only committed his future to the club in November, penning a long-term deal with the Gunners.

Bellerin’s family have already returned to Spain, but such a move was anticipated regardless of his future in North London, according to the Independent. The same report claims the Spanish international does want to return to Barcelona, who are looking to push through a £45m deal by the end of June.

Arsenal aren’t looking to sell Bellerin and the full back would have to openly express a desire to leave in order for the club to relent, owing to the fact he’s under contract for the next six years, his existing deal runs until 2023, so the Gunners are very much in the driving seat.

It’s thought Barcelona are confident of landing Bellerin, as said he apparently want to return to his former club too, but Barca aren’t going to wait around for too long. Benfica’s Nelson Semedo has been earmarked as an alternative option to solve the Catalan clubs right back issues if a deal isn’t agreed for 22 year old Bellerin in the coming weeks.

As a follow up to the Independent report, others have apparently claimed Bellerin is in ‘advanced talks’ with Barcelona, Sky Sports say Arsenal ‘remain confident’ the defender will still be at the club into next season.
