If you say it enough times perhaps they’ll believe it? Then again should that be we’ll believe it?

Barcelona’s relentless pursuit of Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin has seen them told the Spanish international isn’t for sale, according to the Independent.

In actual fact not only have Barcelona been told Bellerin isn’t for sale these claims went as far to say Arsenal expect him to stay in North London, honouring the new long-term deal signed last November.

Arsenal informing the Catalans he’s not for sale certainly wouldn’t be enough to put them off but the Independent went on to say Marco Verratti’s potential availability at Paris Saint Germain could mean Barcelona’s spending powers are focused on him, not leaving enough in the coffers for Bellerin too, who needed to ‘make enough noise’ to get his way out of Arsenal for £45m.

It was also pointed out Arsenal quite simply can’t afford to lose any big name players, that likely domino effect could be seen with huge questions marks continually hanging over the head of Alexi Sanchez – therefore ‘standing firm on Bellerin’ would be a good way to appease the fans, tensions are already running high.

So, Arsenal have told Barcelona Bellerin isn’t for sale. Well, in that case Juventus would get the same answer wouldn’t they?

This hasn’t stopped the Daily Mirror reporting Juventus as having ‘earmarked’ Bellerin, along with Manchester United’s Matteo Darmian, as a potential replacement for Manchester City and Chelsea linked Dani Alves.

Admittedly the Mirror did point to the fact Arsenal had already told Barcelona the Spanish right back isn’t going anywhere, amounting to the Gunners ‘setting their stall out’ when it comes to Bellerin.
