When Thierry Henry first arrived at Arsenal it was hard to see what we were going to get from such a player, the words ‘cows’ ‘arse’ & ‘banjo’ instantly spring to mind.

By his own admission, Henry said that he was more likely to hit the clock end clock than he was to find the back of the net. But with a lot of hard work and perseverance Henry went on to become Arsenal’s greatest ever goal scorer, and the best player in the world to boot.

Now taking on the captains role, Henry has had a heart to heart with Julio Baptista who says (him not me) he’s been struggling a bit in England.

Baptista reveals the chat has done the business.

Baptista said “He told me to have patience, that it`s not easy and that it took him a year to adapt and he went through difficult times.’

“He pointed out fouls that are yellow cards in England would be red in Spain. I don`t mind a battle but some things are difficult to understand.’

“Things haven`t been going well and I never dreamed I would score four goals for Arsenal in one game at a wonderful stadium like Anfield.’

“I surprised myself, but I`m starting to play more and how I want to play.”

The only thing I’m now wondering is ‘Why didn’t Henry have a chat with Pascal Cygan years ago’?
