Manager Arsene Wenger has been giving his thoughts on a jaded Arsenal performance this weekend against Middlesbrough.

Hosting Aitor Karanka’s side at the Emirates Stadium for the game on Saturday, both sides played out a scoreless draw and with a Champions League midweek high following the result against Ludogorets, Wenger knew the performance against Boro just wasn’t what it should’ve been, and despite dominating possession, Arsenal just lacked that real spark on the day to make their control and the chances they had count.

Speaking about his disappointment to BBC Radio London Sport following the game, he admitted it hadn’t made for a great birthday.
