Arsenal chairman Sir Chips Keswick has released a statement on www.arsenal.com.
Talking about our long serving manager Arsene Wenger he says:
“We are fully aware of the attention currently focused on the club and understand the debate. We respect that fans are entitled to their different individual opinions but we will always run this great football club with its best long-term interests at heart.”
Adding, ‘Arsène has a contract until the end of the season. Any decisions will be made by us mutually and communicated at the right time in the right way.”
I`m not totally sure the point of the statement if I am honest? This would surely be assumed that any talks of Arsene staying or indeed departing will be hotly debated by us fans and we all know his contract situation. We would expect nothing other than things being done ‘at the right time in the right way` would we?
For me, it feels like this will be the end, but football is a funny old game. Only time will tell.
