Mikel Arteta says the FA Cup represents a great chance for Arsenal to finally end our 7 year trophy drought.

The Gunners entered the hat for the draw for the fourth round of the FA Cup but still require a replay to try and get past Swansea after a 2-2 draw in Wales yesterday.

After a horrible first half Arsenal came out firing only to fall behind after a rather large defensive brain-fart. The boys showed great character to bang in a couple of quick fire goals with splendid strikes from Lukas Podolski and Kieran Gibbs ? yes Kieran Gibbs ? to take the lead, only to have the footballing equivalent of a follow-through in white trousers late on, allowing Swansea to bag the easiest of equalisers.

But we`re still in the competition, and Arteta thinks we can go on to win it.

“It`s a great chance to win a trophy, we don`t want to miss it.” Arteta told Arsenal.com

“We improved a lot in the second half [against Swansea]. We had many chances to finish the game earlier, but then suddenly with one mistake they scored the first goal.

“We kept going and showed a lot of character to get back into the game, score and go ahead. But then we conceded a sloppy one again. I think we were the better team. We dominated possession better than them and created more chances. We deserved to win the game and that`s why we`re disappointed.”

“We`re on a good run. We`re disappointed with the draws in the last two games as we could have won both of them but I thought in the second half we played very good football.”

Hopefully Arteta will remember this is a chance to win a trophy the next time he`s defending a corner late in a game and a football comes flying at him. Ferguson was talking b*llocks when he said footballs can kill Mikel!
