Arsenal new boy Andrey Arshavin has admitted that he’s struggling to come to terms with the fitness levels needed to compete in the Premiership.

The English league has long been considered one of the fastest and most physically demanding leagues in the world, and the Russian says match fitness is a problem.

‘Even before the end of the first half I felt as if I had spat my lungs out, It was a hard match for me. In the second half my legs simply refused to serve me.’ Said Double A.

‘I am not physically strong enough yet to play the whole of the match.’

The fact that Andrey came to Arsenal without any competitive football under his belt for a few months can’t have helped matters, but on the plus side once he does get fit he should be extremely fresh for the ‘business end of the season’.
