Arsene Wenger has talked about the scorelines we have seen this season, and whilst he attributes that to the attacking intent of the top clubs, he knows he got it wrong against United.

Speaking to arsenal.com specifically on the subject of our thumpings by United and City this season, Wenger said.

‘Its because you have teams of quality and they can punish you. City have quality up front as well, (6-1) was as well special circumstances because United played with 10 men, you don’t sit back, you still attack. When we were punished (United) I took a gamble and took Coquelin out, who was the only defensive player in midfield and of course we were too open.’

I doubt we’ll see the same mistake again.
