Lee Probert is ‘naive’, Fulham conspired to get Djourou sent off…it was an eventful night in London.

Speaking to the Daily Mail after the controversial 2-1 loss last night, Arsene Wenger pulled few punches in his outrage at the result.

‘The moment (Djourou got) the first yellow card they tried every time to get him the second and the referee was naive enough to give it. The referee influenced the game completely the wrong way. We lost the game because we were down to 10 men. The first yellow card was not a yellow card, the second was a foul for us.’

For balance I suppose I should repeat Martin Jol’s comments, who insists his players had not tried to get Djourou sent off.

‘Maybe he could accuse me of trying to do something, but I don’t think players can do that. The only thing I did was put Kerim Frei on and he is an exciting player. Djourou probably could have had a second booking before that to be fair.’

Jol’s comments don’t really help do they?
